Marjan Moghaddam in Diaspora, New Century Gallery, Chelsea

Diaspora, juried exhibition, part of Women’s Caucus for Art National Conference includes the work of Marjan Moghaddam and other artists. Artwork examining what it means to be separated from your roots, your center, your power, your ancestors, your community, your culture, your land, your home.

Ms. Moghaddam will be exhibiting her “Shot in Iran” Digital Print, which explores her experiences of living through the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, and her subsequent life in the US, embedded as text in the large format print. The piece uses 3d Computer Graphics, digital and analog painting, motion capture of dance, photos, calligraphy (English and Persian), text, graffiti, special effects, and audio- triggered deformations. Ms Moghaddam is an award-winning and renowned computer artist who lives and works in Brooklyn, and is originally from Iran.
